What are the best mods for the Tippmann A-5 ?

This is the first question most people ask after they take their Tippmann A-5 out of the box for the first time. The A-5 is one of the easiest paintball markers to customize, and there are more mods designed for the Tippmann A-5 than any other paintball gun on the market. With such a huge variety of mods available, upgrading your A-5 is only limited by your imagination. Whether you’re looking for practical mods that enhance performance and functionality, mods that offer killer mil-sim looks – or both – you can be sure that there are plenty of practical Tippmann A-5 mods that will suit your personal tastes.

Barrels

The stock Tippmann A-5 comes with a good barrel, but there are many great barrel upgrades on the market. A new barrel can provide better range, accuracy and confidence. Barrel mods range from the new BT A-5 Apex barrel (with its customizable flight path capabilities) and the interchangeable Hammerhead Battle Stikxx Kit, to the tiny 3-inch End Game stub nose barrel. A new barrel is an easy upgrade that anyone can do and should be your first mod.

Air

The beautiful thing about the A-5 is that it can run any type of gas without modification. You can use a 10oz Co2 or an 88ci/4500psi HPA tank and the marker will function flawlessly. While it is technically not a modification, a good HPA tank is well worth the investment as compressed air is much easier on the marker’s internal parts and provides more consistent velocity shot after shot.

Remote

A remote line takes the tank off the marker and allows you to carry it in a pod pack or on a vest. This upgrade lightens the marker considerably and, with the addition of a stock, helps balance the marker. A high quality remote line with a slide check like the 32 Degrees Coiled Remote w/Slide Check will give you years of worry free playing. The remote can be run directly off the Air Source Adaptor (ASA) at the bottom of your handgrip or from an air-through stock. You’ll be amazed at how much more maneuverable you’ll be with a remote tank.

Trigger

The two main trigger upgrades are the E-Grip and Response Trigger (RT). Either of these modifications will increase you rate of fire from 8-9 balls per second (bps) to 12-15 bps. If you are an adrenaline junkie who likes to be in the middle of the action or a heavy gunner who likes to sit back and give cover fire a trigger upgrade is a must.

Stock

A good buttstock can be an extremely valuable mod. It makes aiming easier, balances the marker, and allows the gun to be brought up on target fast. Stocks can be regular, dogleg for mask relief, collapsible for close quarters fighting and increased maneuverability, or air-through. This is another easy mod to make on your marker. Pull the two retaining pins in the back of your marker, remove the end cap, insert your stock and replace the pins. Done. Consistent eye relief and improved balance make this an upgrade everyone should consider.

Hoppers

The hopper holds paintballs and drops them into the breech. With the inventive and highly effective Cyclone Feed System on the Tippmann A-5 hopper upgrades are not essential. One good choice for a hopper upgrade is a Ricochet R5. The unique angled design can deflect paintballs without having them break.

Handguard / Foregrips

A handguard or foregrip upgrade adds to the mil-sim look of your marker, makes the marker easier to shoot and helps protect the barrel from damage. Grips and handguards range from the A-5A2 grip that allows you to place your front hand horizontal to the ground to the F.O.G. Foregrip with Rails that allows you to attach many tactical extras (flashlights, lasers etc). The best feature of the F.O.G. is that it does not touch the barrel. No more annoying and ugly screw marks on the finish of your barrel.

Sights

Some people say that due to the shot range of a paintball marker, adding a sight is a useless upgrade. If you talk to players who dominate the field week after week you will hear that adding a sight unit allows you to greatly increase your chance of a hit with the first shot. Making the first shot count can be the difference between victory and defeat. Any mod that increases your chances is a good mod. Whether you choose a BSA 30mm red dot sight, a more traditional Mil-Sim T168 Reticle Intensified Tactical Scope or a cutting edge Nightvision D.143 Nightscope, you will not be disappointed as any of these will be a good upgrade and give you the edge on the field.

How do you turn air flow on for Tippmann A5?

I bought a Tippmann a5 and I put the co2 tank in but it doesnt shoot. On the instructions it says turn the air flow on but it's so confusing.

You may be referring to velocity adjustment. There is a port on the right side of the gun. It houses a small hex screw. You have to turn it counterclockwise to increase the velocity. It may be turned all the way in choking the marker.

Also, if you gun is a response trigger there is a small screw to the right of the trigger frame. That screw controls the air flow passage to the trigger to work the RT. If you have that screw turned all the way down the trigger will not pull. By allowing more air thru you control the speed at which the trigger can be pulled.

What Really Is A Paintball Marker?

One of the terms you may run into early on while getting involved in the adrenaline pumping sport of paintball is "paintball marker." So what is a paintball marker? To put it really simply, it's the paintball guns. Many players refer to them as "markers" because the paint balls the guns shoots "marks" the target. A paintball marker might also be called a paintball gun or just a paint gun. After the safety mask, which is always the most important piece of equipment, the paintball marker is the next most important since there can not be a game without it.

The first paintball game was played in 1981 in Henniker, New Hampshire. Nine players took part, and the sport of paintball was born. The earliest models of paintball markers were uniform (after all, this was just the beginning of the sport). Now there are literally hundreds of choices between various makes and models of paintball markers. Some are very cheap, some are extremely expensive. No one could have imagined the huge variety in choices.

One of the first decisions you'll want to make when using paintball markers is to decide what type of action you want from your paintball marker. By action, this refers to the way that an individual paintball marker fires. There are three types of actions that cover most of the cheaper and basic lines of paintball markers: pump action, semi-automatic blow back, and hybrid blow back. Each type of action makes a paintball gun work very differently, so think about how quickly you want your marker to shoot and how much work you want to do to make it fire. Obviously the pump action is the slowest, while the other methods offer better rates of fire.

The other factor to think about with paintball markers is performance. Performance is one word that covers many several factors including good rate of fire, accuracy, range, durability, and reliability. Some cheap paintball guns will perform like clockwork one day, but then not at all the next. This is why early homework is important: to learn first hand the reputation one model of paint marker has compared to another.

Buying the right paintball marker can be difficult. Do your homework ahead of time, and don't rely on price alone. There are higher priced paintball markers that are extremely unpopular with players because of obvious deficiencies. A $500 paintball marker is not always guaranteed to be bigger and better than a cheaper $200 one.

Appearance is also a factor. Just because a gun "looks cool" means that it is a good buy. Do your research on paintball markers and buy the one that works for you and you'll be much happier than you would have been otherwise.

paintball markers?

im completely new to paintball, and will be going to play woodsball soon so i need to buy a new marker. the only thing i ever owned was a brass eagle piece of shit. So obvlously anything will be an improvement..my celing (after marker/hopper/paint/mask/air/etc) is about 400$. i took a look at the proto slg marker which i could probably get for 250 plus everything else..then saw some pretty solid reviews on a spyder mr1..cheap as dirt as 80$..my friend suggested a tippmann a-5 marker because of its auto-feed mechanism or some shit..so my first question is for woodsball and being a new player, would getting the proto slg benefit me much at all over a mr1? and how? is my friend right about the a5(he says spyders are absolute crap), or am i throwing in another 120$ for close to nothing? would you reccomend any of my ideas? if not give me some suggestions? please? thanks!

The Tippmanns are common woodsball guns since they very reliable, highly upgradable, and virtually indestructable.

A quality mask should be the first thing you get. A cheap mask can completly ruin your day because of fogging. A quality mask will have a Thermal lense (duel pane). If your in a high humidiy area, I stronly recommed a fan to assist in keeping the fog away.

After a $100 mask, thats about $300 which can be a Tippmann A5, Co2 tank, pods, pod pack, and some paintballs.

Is a Paintball Kit or a Paintball Package right for you?

If you are thinking about buying a paintball kit to upgrade the paintball marker or gun you currently own then you need to also consider buying a paintball package instead. It may end up being less expensive in the long run. But we better first explain the differences between a paintball package and paintball kit so you can make the best decision for you.

A paintball package usually comes with most of the equipment you need to start in your adventure. There are many different manufacturers of markers and some of them are only compatable with their own kits. The good news is that if you have a versatile marker then you can get kits to make your gun into most any type of weapon from a paintball sniper gun, to an assault rifle or even an M-16 depending on what you like. The versatility of some markers will allow you to try different things such as being a sniper one day or using a machine gun the next. But remember that you will need to purchase the whole package if your marker is not compatible or if it is not in the best condition.

You are the best one to judge the condition of your current gun. You need to decide if age and condition will be a factor. You may just be at a point where you are ready to invest in a better paintball marker. If your marker is old or has rust on it or if you are just ready for a better weapon then I suggest you get a package. The main reason is that you will spend less on the marker by purchasing it with a package than by purchasing a kit now and then trying to replace your marker at a later date.

what would be considered a paintball sniper marker?

i see people talking about snipers being those with pump guns but what does that mean? what kind of guns exactly and where could i check them out? also for anyone who knows..ive just got a pro-vantage thermal mask and was wondering if its good. i recieved it as a gift from a friend. just wanted to know if its a good mask. thanks.

Mask wise i'd move up to a jt flex period. As for the sniper gig any paintball gun barrel over 14 inches becomes a friction problem and reduces accuracy and distance. Sure it looks neat and "sniper" like it doesn't do anything but hinder you. Depending on the gun a good 12/14" barrel would do just fine. Smart parts,dye,j&j,evil,ect. are just to name a few. Paintball revolves around the 3 "b's", bolt,ball and barrel. An aftermarket bolt will increase effecientcy and accuracy. The type of paintballs you use also determines its accuracy, cheap/old paintball have irregular shells,ect and will not fly straight. Paint does have a shelf life and the barrel is responsible for how it leaves the marker and also its efficiency. Any paintball marker can be a sniper gun, its the player behind it that makes it that way. As for the looks side of it i'd look more toward tippmann and opsgear. Take care.

Imagine holding your first ever paintball gun, a $250 Tippmann series. Then imagine breaking it, by accidentally crashing into a tree while covering your teammates. Now that doesn’t sound too good, does it? Your first paintball gun should be one you can afford to break and upgrade on the fly, as your skills and requirements rise. In this article we’ll try to give you picture of what models you could choose for your first paintball gun.
There is no such thing as ‘the best paintball gun’. The best thing you can do for yourself when you’re a beginner is to actually play the game a few more times – maybe you’ll dislike paintball, maybe you can already determine that you need e.g. a gun that fires more rapidly, or, if you’re a sniper type, you can even get a gun with a scope.

However, if you’re that you like the game enough, you really should buy a paintball kit – that means that you won’t have to run around the woods when you’re bare handed or, even worse, without a paintball mask, until you actually buy the items separately. A paintball kit includes a gun; a mask; some paint; gloves and a hopper for your paintball marker.

As for the actual guns, there is a stunning lot to choose from. One of the most popular paintball markers for beginners on the market is the Tippmann 98 Custom. It costs somewhere around $100-$150, depending on where you buy it. The popularity of the Tippmann 98C relies hardly on the fact that the gun is upgradeable to the bone – you can replace virtually any part of the marker. Overall, the more experienced you get, the more you’ll know what’s best for you. When you’ve finally decided what type of player you are, you can either upgrade (in case you bought the Tippmann 98C) or buy a new gun (in case you bought the Piranha GTI Plus). Choosing the right gun isn’t too hard, if you’re a beginner, just don’t overspend your money and enjoy the actual game.

What is a good paintball gun or mask camera?

Im lookin to spend less then 100 on a good camera wether it was designed for being attached to a paintball mask or not? i just need to know if anyone know of some good cameras that would work for what im trying to do?

For your price range there's only a few options and this is one I considered buying before. It fits in your price range, is wireless, should mount to your mask, is shockproof (can't promise it'll handle a direct hit cuz i dont own one), and comes with a 2gb card (which most dont) that'll record an hour of gameplay.

How to properly replace a 'ring' in a paintball co2 tank?

I have tried to find the right way to replace a 'ring' Paintball in a tank of CO2, but all I have found so far are message boards explaining where to buy them and why they are so important. I feel that I should replace one of mine in a tank of co2 I have because it seems every time you connect when filled with a paintball gun, all the CO2 runs out. I tried using multiple weapons, so I'm pretty sure is not the weapon that is the problem. Apart from this problem, can someone tell me how they could fill their Co2 own, how much it would cost and where would someone buy such a device? Thanks for any help or suggestions, professional advice is appreciated.

Well, while his cocked and the trigger is activated and safety shutdown, then I do not know. my spider was not an issue. if you have an electric, make sure that the trigger is loaded and on, and then make sure your insurance Maek removed.
